When Sexuality Was Sacred: A Return to Infinite Awareness

Infinite Awareness in Sexuality : The Original Understanding

The world is once again confronting the shadow of distorted sexuality. Recent revelations have shown not merely individual failings, but a collective disconnection … from conscience, from reverence, and most importantly, from the Infinite itself.

Sexuality has never been the problem. Humanity’s crisis has always been disconnection from the Infinite, the forgotten source of desire, vitality, and presence.

Sexuality Before the Fall: Remembering the Infinite Source

Sexuality is not new, and it was never meant to be exploitative or grasping. In ancient traditions … tantra, Kashmir Shaivism, Taoist alchemy … sexuality was understood as a sacred energy, flowing naturally from the Infinite.

Humans lost this awareness. They forgot how to source energy from the Infinite Field and instead began seeking fulfillment from the finite. Bodies, recognition, power, and pleasure became substitutes for the boundless energy that has always been available.

“Because of ignorance, desire seeks objects. Through awareness, desire dissolves into being.” – Vijnana Bhairava Tantra

When sexuality is remembered at its source, it is no longer transactional. It is communion, meditation, and expansion into wholeness.

The Crisis of Sexuality Is a Crisis of Source

When disconnection occurs, even those with the greatest material success fall into dysfunction. Power, influence, and wealth cannot substitute for the Infinite Field.

No matter the position … world leader, billionaire, cultural icon … without connection to the Infinite, inner hunger persists. Sexuality becomes compulsive, desire becomes endless, and exploitation arises from the attempt to fill an energy gap.

“From ignorance arises desire; from desire, endless action.” – Śaṅkara

The modern world’s scandals and distortions are symptoms of this fundamental lack of awareness. The real crisis is energetic and spiritual, not simply moral.

Sexuality Is Not the Problem – Disconnection Is

Sexuality, in itself, is neutral and sacred. Distortion arises only when it is severed from its source – the Infinite.

“Seeking pleasure from form alone, one remains bound. Entering pleasure through awareness, one is freed.” – Kularnava Tantra

When disconnected, desire is grasping, compulsive, and ultimately unfulfilling. When reconnected, sexuality becomes a doorway to consciousness, not a trap of craving.

The focus shifts from consumption to presence, from acquisition to communion, and from endless seeking to completion.

Sexuality Without Lack

Sexuality arising from Infinite Awareness is inherently complete. It does not grasp, manipulate, or exhaust. It is a natural flow of energy, a reflection of the Infinite itself.

“That which you seek to possess is already what you are.” – Pratyabhijñā Hridayam

Desire, once rooted in the Infinite, does not seek validation from others. It flows freely, nourishing both body and awareness. This is real liberation – not repression, not indulgence, but remembrance.

From Finite Grasping to Infinite Fulfillment

When sexuality is confined to finite objects … another body, power, recognition … the experience is always incomplete. True fulfillment arises when energy expands into the Infinite Field, engaging with the limitless rather than the limited.

“The body is a doorway, not the destination.” – Tantric aphorism

This is the essence of real tantra, real sacred sexuality : a return to source, a communion with Infinite Awareness, a liberation from the endless cycles of grasping.

When the Infinite Is Forgotten, Desire Becomes Endless

Disconnection from the Infinite creates endless craving. Desire loops in cycles of temporary satisfaction, escalation, and depletion. The more one seeks externally, the more insatiable the inner void becomes.

“Desire, when unrecognized, seeks endlessly. Recognized, it returns to its source.” – Vijnana Bhairava Tantra

When the Infinite is remembered, the need to grasp, dominate, or consume dissolves. The body, pleasure, and sexuality become natural expressions of awareness, not substitutes for it.

Sexuality Healed at the Level of Source

Healing does not occur at the level of behavior, morality, or external structure. Healing occurs at the level of awareness itself.

Sexuality is restored when it is recognized as a sacred flow arising from the Infinite. When awareness reconnects with its source, desire, pleasure, and intimacy naturally align with wholeness.

“In expansion, there is freedom. In freedom, there is completion.” – Tantric aphorism

This is the completion of the journey: the body, desire, and sexuality return to their original purpose – awakening the Self and expanding consciousness.

The Way Home

Sexuality was never meant to be controlled, hidden, or feared. It was never a source of shame. Humanity did not err in its nature – it simply forgot where to draw its energy.

The path forward is simple but profound: remember the Infinite. Source yourself from the boundless field. Let sexuality arise from fullness, not lack. Let desire flow naturally, without exploitation, and expand into the infinite.

Only then does sexuality become what it was always meant to be: sacred, free, and restorative.

  2. There’s something compelling about framing sexuality as connected to source rather than shame. The idea that distortion comes from disconnection — from lack rather than fullness — resonates on a human level. So much unhealthy behavior in any area of life seems rooted in emptiness rather than embodiment.

At the same time, I think healing often has to happen on multiple levels — spiritual, yes, but also relational, psychological, and practical. Awareness is powerful, but accountability and care matter too.

I appreciate the invitation here to move from grasping to presence. That shift alone would change a lot.
